"Out of the mouths of babes..."
The Kinders say so many funny things during our time together...we are trying to write things down to share! We do a lot of snickering during lesson time and free time. "Why are you laughing again, Miss Jenn?" Because...you are funny and you make me laugh! "I'm really not trying to be funny...I'm just me." It is ok...it is a good thing! Did you know that the Bible talks about having a merry heart? You make people have a merry heart! "I'm not as strong as I used to be. I lost all my strength and now I can't do anything! Not one single thing!" Explaining why he wasn't getting things put away. "That's the end of our story for today! "said Miss Jenn. One of the Kinders, "Well that's a relief!" "Can you write it in courage?" Say that again??? Oh, write it in cursive? "Yeah, that!" "Man, we have a lot of things to do here!" Remarking about having to do another seatwork paper after our lesson. "The money maker is whose face is up there!" Answering questions about the penny during Math class. "This is called a masterpiece!" Exclaimed during our watercolor coffee filter project. |
Each day...week...month...year...builds on the other! There is more to Kindergarten than reading, writing, and arithmetic. Our school, teachers, and curriculum work together to meet the learning needs of your student. Look back and marvel at how much your child has grown in five years! I am so proud of the hard work I have seen in three weeks of school! What a joy to be a part of this wonderful learning process! Thank you for the opportunity!
We continue to practice procedures for many different things we will do each day!!! Some days...we forget...in Kindergarten!
Restroom: 1 squirt of soap, 4 pulls on the paper towel, walk don't run because there is often water on the floor from drippy hands!
Walking in the hall: We need to be quiet so we don't disturb others. Keep hands to self. Nose pointing the direction of your toes!
Classroom: Don't call out and interrupt when the teacher is talking! 2 ears and 1 mouth...we should listen twice as much as we talk! Raise your hand and wait to be called on. Bottom on your chair. 6 legs/feet on the floor! (4 belong to the chair and 2 belong to the person in the chair).
We all have a choice to obey or disobey! When we disobey...bad things happen. When we obey...good things happen!
Rule 1: Cooperation We obey immediately (right away) without question, with the right action (no stomping), with the right attitude (no pouting), at the right time! We need to follow directions quickly for our safety!
Rule 2: Communication No murmuring, grumbling, or complaining. We want to use helpful hands AND words!
Rule 3: Compassion Treat others as Christ would, and as you would like to be treated. This rule keeps your dear teacher happy. More importantly, it keeps God happy!
Rule 4: Compliance Chair and feet on the floor. No communication without permission. Homework and classwork done neatly, on time, your best. Quiet in the hall.
Rule 5: Credibility No lying, stealing, cheating, or fighting.
All of these rules can be summed up with the decision to make wise choices!
I am looking forward to a great year! Please contact me with any questions that you may have!
